How do you feel testing went earlier this month at California Speedway?
"I felt really good about our test at Fontana a few weeks ago. We had our cars driving really well in race trim and the car was very comfortable to drive and we had good speed, which I feel are two key ingredients to a solid finish at Fontana. I'm excited for this weekend because I feel our team had a great test session at both California and Las Vegas. In regards to the drive-ability, I was really happy with our car and I'm really looking forward to this weekend because of how great our car was during those test sessions."
What is it like coming back and racing at California Speedway, which is considered your "home track?"
"I always love being able to go back to California because I'm able to see a lot of my family and friends. It's always nice to be able to go back home and visit with the people who helped you get where you are today, and we also have a lot of fans out West so it's a lot of fun to go to California. I always feel a little added pressure to perform well at Fontana and I think that has to do with the fact that I did start my racing career out in that area of the country. I'm really excited about this weekend and our goal is to have a solid finish so that we can showcase our team."
Quoting FreeCreditReport.com Crew Chief, Cully Barraclough:
"We had a pretty decent test session at Fontana a few weeks ago where we ended up learning a lot about our cars. We spent the two days in California testing various set-ups and I think that we're going back this weekend with a pretty good game plan to have a successful race car. David is from the region so I know that he's really looking forward to this weekend since it's always a homecoming for him. The goal of our team is to perform to the best of our abilities and we're really looking forward to this weekend at California Speedway."

How was your testing session at Fontana earlier this month?
"Testing went pretty well for us. We struggled a bit the first day, but we were able to learn a lot going into the second day of testing. We were able to get good speed out of our car during the final day of testing at Fontana and we left there feeling pretty optimistic about our program at the two-mile tracks."
What are your thoughts heading into Fontana this weekend?
"I'm honestly really bummed about our finish at Daytona last week, but I feel that we're going to run well over the next few weeks. I know that we have some really fast race cars lined up for California and Las Vegas. We're still learning a lot as a team with this car and we're developing things as we go along in the process. I feel that we're in a good position to go out there and run competitively. Fontana is a race track where you can pass because it's wide enough to be able to do that. Fontana has a lot of character, the track surface is rough, and it's just a really nice speedway. I think that qualifying is going to be very important this week for us to be able to maintain track position during the race. I'm really excited about going into this weekend because I'm ready to run well and be able to prove ourselves."
Quoting Yates Racing Crew Chief, Todd Parrott:
"I was pretty pleased with our test at Fontana a few weeks ago. We had a brand new car, so we learned a lot of things about it once we put it on the race track. By the end of the evening test on the first day, we had gotten the car to where we liked it. We've made several changes to the car between the test and now bringing that car to the track this weekend, based on what we learned at the test, but we're looking forward to a great weekend of racing at Fontana."
