To finish first a team must first finish. Without crews and fans there would be no start or finish. The crew and the fans make it all work. Teammates create the speed from parts and fans pay for tickets and support sponsors. Without both no driver would ever sit behind any wheel on any racetrack unless he or she was paying for everything.
Images feature crew and staff members at work and fans and crew at rest.
Drivers will be drivers. Kids will be kids.
Anthony Lazzaro & Ralf Kelleners
(Autometrics Motorsports Porsche GT3) Do champions have common traits and abilities and if so could you identify a few?
Lazzaro:
"Certainly. I'd like to be a champion. You have to be selfish. You have to be very focused. It's a little different from what we're doing now in sports car racing because it's very much a team sport. So it is a different mindset, a different mentality. But both of us have raced single-seaters before. Both of us have run series where we were the only driver, and it's all about you. I think to succeed you have to be very single-minded, very focused and a certain amount of selfishness." Kelleners:
"You probably also have to be a little bit of a leader. You need to motivate the team. You need to give the right directions. And sometimes you need to be political to get what you want. You need to be in the right car at the right time with the right tires. You have to be on the pole and you also have to be political. You have to be strong. You have to be a strong personality."
